Arsenal are closing in on both Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber transfers for Mikel Arteta.

 

Arsenal fans believe they have figured out how the club are going to announce the signings of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, as some are expecting a double confirmation. The Gunners have been extremely busy to begin the transfer window, having already landed Kai Havertz from Chelsea and he is set to be joined by Rice and Timber as part of a £200million spending spree.

Aside from incoming transfers, Arsenal have been hard at work tying their stars down to new long-term contracts. Reiss Nelson proved to be a valuable squad player last season and was rewarded a new four-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months. Then a day later it was confirmed that William Saliba had committed his future to the club with a new contract, ending speculation that he may depart the Emirates.

After fans were celebrating two of their stars remaining in north London, Arsenal uploaded a video on social media of Nelson asking Saliba when he would be signing his new contract before then handing the camera over to the centre-back who sent a message confirming the news.

The video prompted a theory from fans that a similar double announcement would be taking place once all the formalities have been completed and the club can confirm deals for Rice and Timber. Arsenal have reached full agreements on both players and are just awaiting medicals to be completed and the dotted lines to be signed, but some fans in the responses have made their theories known.
