REPORT: ARSENAL OR NEWCASTLE COULD NOW SIGN ENGLISH MIDFIELDER FOR £15M
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United could reportedly be able to sign Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton for £15 million.
Arsenal, Newcastle United and Everton all have been linked with Adam Wharton of Blackburn Rovers in the summer transfer window.
The Sun reported in May that Arsenal, Leicester City and Newcastle United all have scouted Wharton in action for Blackburn.
The same publication are now reporting that Everton manager Sean Dyche is ready to make a bid for the midfielder.
Newcastle are also determined to secure the services of the teenager and could send him back on loan to Blackburn for next season.
And, according to The Sun, Blackburn will sell Wharton for £15 million in guaranteed transfer fees.
In our opinion, Arsenal and Newcastle United should not rush into making a bid of £15 million for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton.
Yes, the 19-year-old is a very promising young player, but he has been playing in the Championship, not in the Premier League.
And £15 million is a lot of money to spend on a 19-year-old who may not get a chance in the first team for a while and who is still growing and developing as a footballer.
